Crews battle house fire for hours in Portage Co.

PORTAGE COUNTY (WAOW) -- Firefighters battled a house fire in Portage County for five hours Thursday. It happened at 4022 Birch Drive in the Township of Dewey. The fire started just before 4:00 p.m., according to Dewey Fire Chief LeRoy Pukrop. The house was severely damaged, he said.
