Man hit by squad car released from hospital

The 89-year-old man hit by a Wausau Police Department squad car has been released from the hospital.

A spokesman for Aspirus Wausau Hospital confirmed Chang Thao of Wausau was released early last week. Police say Thao was struck Oct. 30 by a squad car driven by Officer Shawn Pierschalla of the Wausau Police Department during a blackout.
