Property tax increases with passing of Wausau city budget

The Wausau City Council has narrowly passed a budget for the next year. This came after heated debate, as the council ultimately decided to raise property taxes. Earlier, members said that wasn't going to happen. But the increase isn't very high. Wausau council members went back and forth about the $77 million budget for 2013. The big point of contention, property taxes. The council voted six to five to raise taxes. "On a $100,000 house it will go up a dollar," said Wausau Mayor, Jim Tipple. Full Story: WAOW
