Marathon County Sheriff to Retire

The Marathon County Sheriff, Randy Hoenisch, has announced that he is retiring during a news conference held today.

The Sheriff explained that in light of the situation with his wife, Kim, and the likelihood of her being incarcerated, that he will retire to take care of his children.

He also stated that he was the person who contacted law enforcement to investigate the criminal acts that his wife had committed.

He had been planning to wait until his wife's sentencing in April, but, due to the scrutiny of the people and media, he changed those plans.

The process will probably take 2 to 3 weeks, so there is no definitive date for his departure.
